Freeland
Lodge is a historical house in Observatory, Cape Town. Guests will
find a flexible design that can accommodate a range of needs. Freeland
Lodge was designed for international students and other travellers
that come to Cape Town for more than an average holiday or study
experience. Domestic and international guests find the facilities
and interactive focus ideal for their stay in the city. It has become
a place to meet and have fun with people from all walks of life and
experiences.
Freeland Lodge offers self-catering accommodation
with two communal kitchens. It has nine large rooms, jacuzzi, braai/BBQ
area, computers, wireless ADSL internet on a pay-as-you-go basis
and laundry facilities. It is located in the vibrant neighbourhood
of Observatory. The lodge is within a couple of blocks from grocery
stores, restaurants, bars, pool hall, video store, doctor and pharmacy.
Observatory is a quaint Victorian styled suburb,
rich in colour and diversity. It looks up on Table Mountain 's striking
companion, Devil's Peak. Situated within 10 minutes drive of Cape
Town city centre, Observatory provides the convenience of central
location with the charm of the old Victorian architecture. Two prominent
buildings dominate Observatory. One is the famous Groote Schuur Hospital
where Dr Chris Barnard performed the world's first heart transplant.
The other is the SA Astronomical Observatory for which the suburb
is named.
