Public transport options
include the railway (station 5 minutes walk from lodge) and
local mini-buses which run along main road (just over 5 minute
walk). It is a 10 minute walk to Groote Schuur Hospital and
UCT medical campus. The Jammie Shuttle (a free student service)
runs regularly from there to the main UCT campus in Rondebosch.
Obs, as it is affectionately known, features
an exciting nightlife attributed to the variety of cosy restaurants
and quaint pubs along Lower Main Road . There is a broad selection
of businesses, organizations and other entertainment in Observatory.
